Empty Nesters Finally Finds @Butcherbox. Meat delivery service is great for quality, convenience and cot
As one-half of empty nesters finally, I feel New Year Resolutions are truly important part of the empty nest. It gives us a chance to reflect on the past year and look towards the future with a do over. I believe. Empty Nester Brad calls Bull*** on the whole resolution thing no matter when you decide to attempt a change. Brad can also not resist a challenge though ....... We all remember Meatless Mondays quite well. So because I am an empty nester and Brad is at my mercy
Opposites attract or so its been said. Brad is a patient person. I knew that when I married him and I married him any way. On the other hand, I am not so patient. I am working on it and at least I own it. As a young parent though, I did learn how to be a patient mother and wife (Brad and the boys might attest otherwise). I realized that it wasn't so important to "win" the discussion as it was to "listen" to all. Then the boys flew the coop and and so did some of my patience.
Empty Nesters Finally love their kids enough to let them go but first make sure they make good decisions.
PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED BUT ITS THROW BACK THURSDAY SO ......... Ever since we became Empty Nesters I have made it my mission to find different and interesting healthy food to make for Brad and me. This week it is Quinoa. Neither Brad nor I can pronounce it correctly so I can only hope that I can cook it well. I was watching Dr. Oz (Brad is not a big fan of me watching shows like that ) and quinoa was the special guest. Dr. Oz toted the health benefits of the grain as well as t
As empty nesters finally, it is just Brad and I a lot of the time. It's a lot of Karen and Brad even for Karen and Brad. And on the weekend, it can be even more. I am not complaining, just stating a fact. I am sure a lot of empty nesters will agree. I am convinced that is one of the reasons why so many holidays are geared to empty nesters. When we were younger (not that long ago) and the weekend was approaching Brad and I would split up (figuratively not literally). The bo
Fast answer is Yes but there is so much more to that answer for empty nesters finally. A timeline is best way to explain. Easy Answer: June 2008: Lane goes to college (University of Florida). Drew still at home. Miss Lane terribly but Drew keeps us very busy. June 2012: Drew goes to college ( UF, too). Lane getting Masters so Brad and I have a trial run of empty nesting. We get a "C", if I am grading us (I obviously am). May 2013: Lane graduates and moves back home (for 1
Heads Up: The title of this blog is not really indicative of the content (unless you are on Team Brad) but it is a great song by Elvis Presley. I am listening to it as I write this blog, for inspiration even though I don't really need any more inspiration than Brad.. AWWW. Even though Brad does say to me "a little less conversation" occasionally (can you believe this??!!), it is usually around 7:00 in the morning. So I will give him a pass because of the time of day. Full d
When Brad and I travel we always try to pick something to do that is out of our comfort zone, some more physical than others. I promised the boys a while ago that I would begin to take risks more often at home and always at least once on a vacation. Sometimes the plane trip itself counts as a risk (at least for me). Don't ask Brad about our trip to San Francisco early in our marriage. Heads up, I threw up twice while Brad ate all my food including my ice scream sundae (this w
EMPTY NESTERS FINALLY DO MOTHER'S DAY RIGHT
Empty Nesting definitely comes with challenges. I have mentioned my struggle with grocery shopping for our empty nest on many occasions. So it was inevitable that cooking would be present its own challenges. I was determined though to make dinner time a “special time” for us empty nesters. Truth be told I love cooking and always made dinner a time for all 4 of us. I even tried the “question a day” topic or “give me one good and one bad thing that happened to you today” but
It’s a beautiful Football Sunday and I am watch the NFL on the TV, computer and the IPAD too. But, I am not complaining (surprise). I am actually very happy to be sitting next to Brad watching whatever he wants (surprise #2) . As empty nesters, we have learned different things about each other and this week I learned how Brad is an excellent caretaker (#bradthecaretaker) . He definitely rose to the occasion since I had a bad cold. This week Brad had to play doctor, cook, m
