February is a short month but important one in Empty Nesters Finally world. Sarah, our daughter-in-law has a birthday and she is definitely one of our Favorite Things.....
I also want to mention the Happier Podcast with Gretchen Rubin which she hosts with her sister, Elizabeth Craft.
This was my very first podcast. Full disclosure, Brad does not listen to this podcast since there is not a football, baseball or basketball involved. Therefore, this is an empty nester Karen recommendation not an Empty Nesters Finally recommendation.
Gretchen and her sister talk about happiness and provides tips on making the most of your time. I have made many changes in our empty nesters finally household from things I learned on Happier podcast. Brad has no idea and we will keep it that.
For example, they mentioned about having a theme word for the year. I chose patience, which according to Brad and my sister, I lacked and need to work on.
Brad decided there was not one word in the dictionary that he wanted to focus on in 2020. Of course I offered to help him choose a word and even give him several options.
