THANKSGIVING, BLACK FRIDAY AND OUR ANNIVERSARY

Thursday, Friday and Saturday were very busy for so many but really busy for Brad and I (emptynestersfinally.) Now, I am going to admit something very unpopular on so many levels. Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday.

I am sure lots of you are tsk tsking me but I tell the truth. And to make matters worse, Brad and I got married (first time) over Thanksgiving weekend. And to make it even worse, it's Brad's favorite holiday.

I am not a fan of the food or the fanfare. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely thankful the Pilgrims came to the New World and that Brad wanted to marry me (he obviously had no idea what he was getting himself into.) We usually have the holiday at our house because, surprise ..... FOOTBALL. The Dallas Cowboys always play on Thanksgiving and Brad needs to be sitting in his spot on the couch watching the game, because they will only win if Brad sits in the same spot year after year (not sure Jerry Jones knows this ......) Unfortunately for many, Dallas lost the game and I am sure this will be somehow be attributed to the fact that Brad cooked our Thanksgiving Meal and even though he watched the game he was making the stuffing and not sitting in his "seat" whole time.

I

I am hesitant to visit Dallas and get the wrath of our Texas family.

Black Friday. Since the beginning of the year, I decided that I was not going to buy any clothes for Brad and myself except for special occasions (Lane and Sarah's wedding counted as a special occasion.) I even wrote a post about this so I would hold myself accountable. Spoiler Alert. It did not work but more on that in later post. So Black Friday should have been a non-issue for us but .... I got around this by buying presents for those special people in my lives (you know who you are.)

Saturday, November 25 was the most important day of the weekend. It was Small Business Saturday and our anniversary. Even though usually on this long weekend, I want to pull every hair out of my head, not this year. I was going to to "live in the moment" and be chill this year (everyone - stop laughing).

I was going to enjoy this holiday weekend and especially our anniversary and be thankful that I have Brad in my life and he has decided that all my quirkiness is fine with him (at least that is what he tells me).

So a toast or a juice to everyone and everything I am so grateful for in my life!

Happy Empty Nesting!!
