DROP OFF

As of August 19, 2012 we are officially Empty Nesters. We are excited, sad, and anxious all at the same time. For the past 22 years of our 25 years we have been parents to 2 amazing kids (we know everyone’s kids are amazing but......). We just dropped “our baby”off at college and did not flood his dorm parking lot with our tears! We promised him we would not cry so we just went to the next dorm parking lot and cried.

As we dropped Drew off to begin his freshman year we realize that these years have flown by. We used to laugh when our parents said to us “days go by slow but the years go by fast” because at the time we were so tired we could only imagine a night with more than 5 hours of sleep. But now we know what they mean. OMG we are just like our parents!!!!

As we drive away from the campus waving good-bye to both boys (we are super lucky they both go to the same school) we realize it is just us now. Both of us at the same time begin to laugh amidst our tears. We never thought that while we were helping them on their way to become independent young men we would end but being empty nesters.

There is so much we want to do individually and as couple I think I am going to make a list for us…….. Brad has no idea what his future holds. Good luck to him and all my friends.

Happy Empty Nesting!!!
